A devastating tragedy struck Zone 6 Police Headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State, as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) (Barr) Vivian Chinemerem Aworonye lost her life in a fatal accident involving a commercial motorcyclist.

According to a reliable source within Zone 6, ACP Aworonye, due to the lack of accommodation in police barracks, resided within the premises, where she was crossing the road around 6:30 PM over the weekend. Tragically, she was struck by a motorcycle while attempting to navigate the thoroughfare.

The impact caused her to fall, resulting in a severe head injury. She was promptly rushed to Bakor Hospital, a private medical facility near Zone 6 Headquarters, before being referred to the Psychiatric Hospital for further treatment. Sadly, despite efforts to save her, she eventually succumbed to her injuries at the Teaching Hospital.
