In a major leap towards global academic engagement, Educa.ng reported that, the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), located in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria, has formalized a research and academic collaboration with the University of the Free State, South Africa.

The partnership was sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focusing on enhancing educational cooperation in fields such as science, agriculture, and technology. The announcement was made on Monday in a statement issued by OAUSTECH’s Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Paul Adeagbo.

The collaboration includes joint research projects, staff and student exchange programmes, shared workshops, and advanced training initiatives. These efforts aim to promote knowledge exchange, foster academic excellence, and drive innovation across both institutions.

At the MoU signing event held on OAUSTECH’s campus, Vice Chancellor Professor Temi Ologunorisa lauded the milestone as a move that will “expand the frontiers of knowledge and enrich both teaching and research experiences.”

Professor Anthea Rhoda, acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the Free State, highlighted the collaboration’s potential to create new academic synergies. “This partnership underscores our shared commitment to fostering global educational alliances and enriching academic output through cooperation,” she said.

The agreement is expected to strengthen OAUSTECH’s global presence and provide its students and faculty access to world-class research and academic resources.
